Diamond on a Square
Start with the napkin laying flat. Fold one third of the napkin up. Cover it with the other third. At one end fold in two corners and then fold the other end diagonally. Fold the small flap over to make the diamond. Tuck the large flap under to make the square base. Hide the visible corner under the diamond. Display on a dish.How to fold the Diamond on a Square
Ease of Folding: The Diamond on a Square is a little complicated to fold and takes a little time to make sure that the final appearance looks like a diamond floating above a square. In practice the final fold may made more easily by turning the napkin over.
Fabric: Almost any fabric can be used but it is a little easier to manage using moderately stiff fabric .
Precision: Accurate folding is necessary to create the effect that the diamond is separate item resting on a square platform.
Notes: The completed design can be used as a coaster for a water glass.
