Start with the Napkin prefolded as a square. Fold the loose corners up over the middle to make a triangle. Fold the two loose edges in to meet each other and tuck their tails under the napkin. Arch the center up to grip the two tails. Lift each layer up in turn to make four sails above the boat.How to fold the Bird of Paradise
Ease of Folding: This design is relatively complicated and takes a little time to make.
Fabric: Moderately stiff napkin fabric is required so that the sails stand up.
Precision: Not critical. Because the corners are lifted to form the sails, accuracy is not very important.
Notes: The final folded napkin must be placed on a tablecloth to prevent it springing apart on a polished surface
